Larger Turbochargers

Turbochargers are commonly used to boost your engine’s performance capabilities. Turbochargers work by compressing the air that enters your engine, therefore allowing more air to enter your combustion chamber. To make this happen, your turbocharger uses exhaust fumes to spin its internal turbine. This turbine then compresses the air. The only downside to turbochargers is that they make your engine work harder, therefore lessening its lifespan.

Cold-Air Intake

Installing a cold-air intake is a great way to increase your heavy-duty engine’s power output. Factory cold-air intakes can restrict the airflow going into your engine, whereas a cold-air intake allows for not only more air but denser air to enter your engine. This particular modification allows for more throttle response and an increase in horsepower. Do keep in mind that this modification is likely to decrease your fuel efficiency.
